Now Is A Great Time For A Family Reunion

Yesterday, my family and I went to Connecticut for a gathering of my mother in law’s family. It was a beautiful day for a drive, and the kids did pretty well in the car for the long ride there and back. There were a couple of familiar faces there, and I did meet some relations that I had not yet met. One of the most important things about this family reunion is that, as sad as it is, it could possibly be the last time that everyone is able to see the last remaining member of the oldest living generation. … Continue reading

If the thought of planning activities for your family reunion has you rolling your eyes, do not worry. You do not have to schedule an activity for every age group for every minute of your event. In fact, sometimes less is more and activities that … Continue reading

How To Have Fun at Your Class Reunion

It’s that time of year again. Time to exchange hugs and awkward handshakes with the people who saw you through acne breakouts, boyfriend break ups and everything in between. High school reunion season is here and for most of us that means getting ready for a good time with old friends and classmates we haven’t seen in years. However, for others, class reunions can strike fear in the very bowels of their beings. Fortunately, there are ways you can make the event a fun time: DO realize that you are not the only one who has aged since graduation. Don’t … Continue reading

The Romance of Class Reunions

As hard to believe as it is, this coming weekend the East High Angels Class of 1988, of which I belong, will get together to celebrate our 20th high school reunion. Because our Alaska trip is right around the corner and doing both would really stretch our funds, I won’t be attending however. Who Will Be There? But I was curious who all will be there. The cool thing is I don’t have to go to know. As so many things are these days, there’s a list of people who’ve registered for the reunion online. They’re Married? Another neat thing … Continue reading

Ready, Set, Watch Me Now–Part 2

Iron Man, The Incredible Hulk, Speed Racer, Sex and the City or Batman. Which flick are you going to be shelling out $10 for this summer? Yes, yes, the exciting summer movie season is just a few weeks away and in anticipation of the big event I have been detailing some of the films that have been creating the most buzz before they even appear on the big screen. Here now are some other viable box office contenders: MAY 30: “Sex and the City.” When we last saw Carrie Bradshaw and crew four years ago their TV characters were marking … Continue reading

“New Kids” Planning to Reunite—Are You Ready for This?

First it was the Backstreet Boys, now it’s New Kids on the Block. What’s next… a 98 Degrees reunion? In case you haven’t heard the good (or bad, depending on if you were a fan) news, word has it the legendary boy band New Kids on the Block is getting back together. If you grew up in the ‘90s then you likely swooned with the rest of the nation over Jonathan Knight (who is now a 40-year-old real estate developer), Donnie Wahlberg (a 38-year-old singer turned actor), Joey McIntyre (a 35-year-old new dad and former “Dancing with the Stars contestant), … Continue reading

The Reunion – Anticipation

The anticipation leading up to the face to face reunion was the most incredible, amazing feeling I’d ever known. I had no clue how anxious I’d be. And how nervous I was not. I thought for sure I’d be terrified, but I wasn’t worried about any of that. The weeks stretched on and I thought it would never get here. I kept having dreams, or more like nightmares, that she would call and say, “I’m sorry I cannot make it”. It didn’t matter the reason she wouldn’t be able to come, but my faith was so faltering during the time, … Continue reading

Top Chef Reunion Episode

On last night’s episode of Top Chef, Stephen Aspirino came out the clear winner. Yes, he’s already been booted from the show and is not going to Las Vegas to compete for the title of Top Chef. His win had nothing to do with food. It was about eating some humble pie and taking responsibility for his arrogant attitude in previous episodes. Probably the most grievous of Stephen’s offenses was when he lit into Candace for wanting to use cookie cutters to cut shapes out of fruit when the chefs were preparing a meal for children. He called her inexperienced … Continue reading

Pinterest is filled with all manner of interesting things! Some of them are related to genealogy. In fact, there are some genealogy websites that have their very own Pinterest page. Here is a quick list of where to look if you want to find some genealogy resources on Pinterest. When I first started using Pinterest, it appeared to be filled with photos of wedding dresses and intricately braided hairdos. You will find a lot of wedding ideas on Pinterest, but that is not the only thing it is for. The main idea of the website is to use it to … Continue reading
