Buddhists are followers of a variety of practices and beliefs known as Buddhism. Whether Buddhism is a religion or philosophy is controversial. In some cultures, the deceased are believed to have the ability to shape the circumstances of the living. In these cultures, the descendants of those who have passed away continue to provide for the well-being of their deceased family members through the practice of ancestor veneration. Sometimes, people confuse the concept of ancestor veneration by calling it “ancestor worship”.
