As Memorial Day approaches I have spent a lot of time thinking about those that have gone on before me. Images and stories of family farms and homesteads evoke a sense of warmth and belonging. A few generations ago, most families passed the family home down generation to generation. As I looked for an interesting topic to write about for today, I came across a wonderful story that was posted on a genealogy blog. Family Stories – Fact or Fiction?

Everybody likes a good family story. However, genealogists who are considering preserving the stories of their families may wonder which stories should be written down and otherwise preserved and which might be inappropriate for inclusion in a family history book.
