A Strangely Tangled Family Tree

Every human civilization that has ever existed, or that currently exists today, has it’s own social rules. All cultures will clearly state rules, or even make laws, that define who it is acceptable for a person to marry, and to have children with. So, when you read about a situation when an adult woman and her long lost father choose to have a baby together, it makes one very uncomfortable. The kinship terms that apply to this baby make for a very tangled family tree. I’m not entirely certain if this particular situation could be legally defined as a case … Continue reading

The couple had been busy building a family before their journey, and traveled to America … Continue reading

Move Over Poker, There’s A New Card Game In Town

Today I came across a genealogy game that looks like it could be both fun and educational at the same time. Six Generations is a game that consists of a deck of seventy-two cards. The game may be played with or without a game board and six-sided dice, and it is designed for use by players age six to adult in groups of two or more. The cards for this game are beautifully illustrated. The illustrations on the cards depict people from America and many European nations, who were born in different time periods. Each character has his or her … Continue reading
